ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING
Every year young people from around the world, children and grandchildren of IPA members, are invited to visit another country and participate in a once in a lifetime experience that many will never forget.
For the IYG participants it is an opportunity to experience travel to another country and to meet people of a similar age from different cultures and backgrounds whilst gaining a deeper knowledge of the history, social character, nature and family life of the hosting country.
In 2017, The South African Section of the IPA will host the
International Youth Gathering
READY TO MEET SOUTH AFRICA?
We will stay in Backpacker Lodges and spend 6 nights camping. All camping equipment provided.
You will be transported by Overland Trucks and accompanied by a support vehicle.
8 Support Staff will go along with the participants. Staff includes Officers of the South African Police Service.
Winter – Cool during the day to very cold conditions during the evenings.
Moderate level of fitness required.
The 2017 IYG to be held in South Africa from 29 July 2017 to 13 August 2017 is open to the children or grandchildren of current IPA members.
The total cost amounts to ZAR22,000.00 (ZAR–South African Rand) per child (exclusive of Air Travel costs). The costs include accommodation, meals, transport, all excursions and coach travel within South Africa.
A deposit of R10,000.00 (ZAR) is to be paid by 28 February 2017.
The remaining balance of R12,000.00 should be paid by 31 March 2017.
Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant.

Age of Participants
Participants must have reached their 16th Birthday BUT NOT their 18th Birthday on 30 July 2017. Ages 16-17 at the start of the event.
Number of Participants
The number of participants is limited to 45 and will be handled on a “first-come, first served” basis. Each IPA section can send two applicants with the option of a third if there are enough places free.
