Welcome to the South African Section of the International Police Association (IPA).
Our guiding motto, \u201cServo per Amikeco\u201d, means \u201cService Through Friendship.\u201d
We believe that true service is built on commitment, and commitment fosters friendship. Without friendship, the IPA would not exist \u2014 it is the heart of who we are and what we stand for.<\/p> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>

We are a non-governmental organisation dedicated to building bridges of friendship among members of the police service.
Our mission is to:
\u2022 Strengthen bonds of camaraderie across borders.
\u2022 Promote international cooperation in social, cultural, and professional fields.
\u2022 Encourage peaceful co-existence and contribute to the preservation of world peace.
\u2022 Enhance the public image of the police service.
\u2022 Secure recognition of the IPA by international bodies.<\/p> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>

For over 60 years, the International Police Association has united more than 420,000 members across 100+ countries. Today, the IPA stands proudly as the world\u2019s oldest and largest police association \u2014 a global community built on friendship and service.<\/p> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>

The IPA is firmly committed to the principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations in 1948.
We hold Consultative (Special) Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and maintain Consultative Status with both the Organization of American States and UNESCO.<\/p> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>
