About The International Police Association

Emblem of the IPA

The International Police Association (IPA) is an international independent apolitical body made up of members of police services, whether serving or retired, and without distinction as to rank, sex, race, colour, language or religion.

Through its Esperanto motto of \”Servo per Amikeco\” or \”Service through Friendship”, the purpose of the IPA is to create bonds of friendship and to promote co-operation amongst its members and other police services.

The Aims of the IPA include the development of cultural relations among its members, a broadening of their general knowledge and an exchange of professional experience. In addition, it seeks to foster mutual help in the social sphere and to contribute, within the limits of its possibilities, to the peaceful co-existence of different peoples and to the preservation of world peace. The IPA offers its members unique opportunities in establishing friendships and co-operation with other members irrespective rank or status outside the ambit of official policing protocol where members share and exchange knowledge and experience on a more personal level.
