Founding of IPA South Africa
The South African Section of the IPA was officially founded on 16 June 1982 and its membership as a Section approved on 23 July 1982 during the 10th IPA World Conference held in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The South African Section duly upholds the principles, aims and objectives of the Association and as serving and ex-members of policing agencies we strongly promote the image of such services. IPA South Africa additionally assists & supports various welfare associations and those in need.

South African IPA membership is open to serving or retired members of the following services:

South African Police Service

Metropolitan Police Services

Metropolitan Police Services

Traffic Police

Traffic Police

National and Provincial Parks Board Law Enforcement

National and Provincial Parks Board Law Enforcement

National Defence Force Military Police
